Special Culinary of Solo

Solo is a wonderful city which is have so many culinary destination. In Solo, you can easily to find delicious food. Here some special Solo culinary:
  • Tengkleng: this food is a bit same with curry. It’s made from lamb that usually contains of bones with flesh adhere on it. It also use internal organs of lamb such as the intestines and liver. 
  • Sate kere: This food is kind of sate that use unusual sate material. Sate usually made from chicken, lamb, or beef. However, sate kere brings you a different sensation with use a cheaper material without decreasing the sensation of sate. Sate kere generally made from gembus – pulp  of tahu.
  • Gudeg Ceker (chicken feet): basically, the gudeg is the same as usual. The difference is come from the “ceker”. The ceker was cooked with coconut juice for several hours. So, it makes the ceker soft and delicious.
  • Nasi liwet: The rice was cooked with coconut juice and chicken broth to make it more savory and delicious. This dish is served with spicy cooked vegetables, boiled eggs, chicken, and crackers.
  • Timlo Solo: is a clear soupy dish containing sausages fried, chopped, boiled chicken eggs chicken gizzard and liver slices. The menu is served with white rice sprinkled with fried onions. 
  • Serabi Solo: is made from rice flour, sugar, and coconut milk. It’s shaped like a round plate with a crust around it. For topping, Serabi Solo adds a sprinkling of various kinds such as cocoa, jackfruit, and banana slices.
